Introduction

The purpose of this communication plan is to define the communication methods and channels used for the ECSP1 - eCommerce Server Platform V1.0. Clear and consistent communication ensures good information flow as well as helps to achieve project's quality objectives.

Stakeholders

Project Stakeholders can be divided into four groups from the point of view of communication:

  1. Project group team members: - Kuisma Kuivanen - Jere Koskimäki - Riku Voutilainen - Milla Sammallahti - Joona Hirvonen - Tomi Isokytö
  2. Project manager(s) and Coaches - Marko "NarsuMan" Rintamäki
  3. Stakeholder representatives
  4. Other external stakeholders

General Communications Channels

  • Discord (Our main communication platform)
  • Zoom
  • Mural

Written Communication Models

  • Discord channel with several sub-channels for discussing different areas of the project.

Internal Communications

  • Daily Scrum held every project day morning at 8:15 to go through daily hot topics, progress, challenges and plans.
  • Scrum of Scrums held every Friday at 9:15 with project manager and team leads gathering together to coordinate the work between the teams and follow-up on the current status of each team.

Communications with Coaches

  • Mainly Discord is used for asking questions and receiving feedback from Coaches.

Communications with Stakeholder Representatives

  • Communication with stakeholders is done primarily using Discord and Zoom.

Communications with External Stakeholders

  • Discussions with external stakeholders are done through Discord, emails or phone calls.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Communications

The success of the communications are continuously evaluated during the project, especially during weekly coach meetings and as well as in communication studies. Any inconvenience will be addressed immediately and the communication plan modified if and / or necessary.
